The Vietnamese prime minister has recently approved establishment of the Long Thanh high-tech and service-urban industrial park in southern Dong Nai province.

The park will cover 1,922 hectares in Long Thanh district, including 500 hectares for high-tech projects in the areas of post and telecommunications, aviation, precision technology and modern buildings.

Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Giau Day Expressway, which is under construction, will be the main route linking the future industrial park and the province.

Long Thanh District, one of Dong Nai’s economic centers, boasts the potential for projects in the fields of industry, construction and tourism.

The district is home to the US$8-billion Long Thanh International Airport, the largest in Vietnam, with construction scheduled to begin in 2010. (Vietnam Economic Times)
