Vietnam-South Africa Trade Up 141.1 per cent to US$298.58M in Jan-May

Trade between Vietnam and South Africa jumped 141.1 per cent to US$298.58 million in the first five months this year, up 141.1 per cent on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
Vietnam exported US$255,12 million worth of goods to the foreign country, up four times on-year while it imported US$43.46 million of goods, down 46 per cent, resulting in the country’s trade surplus of US$211.66 million during the period.
 
Vietnam’s key export to South Africa are coffee, rice, wood furniture, pepper, chemical products, paper and paper products, garments and textiles, footwear, iron and steel and computer, electric products and spare parts.
 
Meanwhile Vietnam imported iron and steel, seafood, chemical, plastic, wood furniture, machines, equipment, spare parts and chemical products.
 
 The trade between Vietnam and South Africa stood at US$48 million last year. (Vinanet)
