Vietnam Economy Forecast to Grow 6.5 per cent-7 per cent Next Year: MPI
Vietnam’s economy is predicted to expand by 6.5 per cent-7 per cent to between VND1,960 trillion and VND1,970 trillion (US$108 billion) in 2010, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).
The MPI forecasts in its statement that GDP per capita will be up by about US$1,220 from current figures.
The industrial production and construction sectors are expected to rise 7 per cent-7.5 per cent, the services sector is forecast to grow 7.8 per cent-8.3 per cent and the agro-forestry and fisheries sector is estimated to be up 3 per cent-3.4 per cent, the MPI said.
The Southeast Asian country’s exports are forecast to grow 6 per cent, the MPI added.
The country’s total investments will account for 40.7 per cent of the GDP value of that year, and inflation will be capped below 10 per cent. (CPV)
