Vietnam and Australia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on boosting judicial cooperation between the two countries.

The signing was made by Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, Truong Hoa Binh, and his counterpart from the Federal Court of Australia, Michel Black in Hanoi.

Under the MoU, both sides will focus on technical assistance cooperation programs, especially between their judges and court officials.

During his talk with the visiting guest later, Chief Justice Binh appreciated the Federal Court of Australia’s assistance in building “a Judges’ Handbook” and in enhancing the capacity of Vietnamese judges.

The same day, the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam held a publicizing ceremony of “Amended Judges’ Handbook”, which resulted from the Australian government-funded project. (Vietnam Plus, Labor)
