US$4.2 Million for Public Administration Reform
The Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) initiated the project “Enhancing capacity of Vietnamese government bodies to promote and heighten effectiveness and efficiency of public administration reform” in Hanoi on August 28, 2009.
The US$4.2 million project for public administration reform will be implemented in three years. The Ministry of Home Affairs will manage the project.
The project will focus on building oversight and evaluating systems to support efforts of the Government in public administration reform programme applied in the 2001-2010 period and orienting a new programme for the next decade. The project will help build models of supplying public services for education, health and culture sectors and support local administrative reforms at local authorities.
