Vietnam Imports US$157.97M Goods from U.K. in H1

Vietnam spent US$157.97 million on buying goods from the United Kingdom (U.K.) in the first half of this year, dropping 39% from a year ago, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
Machines, equipment and spare parts took the lead in Vietnam’s imports from Italy with US$43.2 million, making up 27.3% of the country’s total import value during the period.
 
It was followed by pharmaceuticals with US$24.642 million, chemical products with US$9.22 million, pesticide and materials with US$5.93 million and steel products with US$4.09 million.
 
Last year, bilateral trade between Vietnam and the U.K. reached US$1.76 billion, representing an on-year increase of 16.2%. (Vinanet)
