The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the country’s central bank, has confirmed that four commercial banks, including the state-run Agribank, have registered to provide foreign exchange services in foreign markets.

Three others are Gia Dinh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (GiaDinhBank), Dai A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (DaiABank), and Dai Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TrustBank).

These operations include overseas forex and gold trading; option transactions; future contract; and raising, lending and guaranteeing foreign currency loans under the country’s regulations.

If approved, these banks can provide international payment services and foreign currencies-trading in foreign countries.

The central bank has announced that the Southern Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NamA Bank) met all requirements to supply forex service in domestic market. (SBV)
