Vietnam Seeks to Raise Danish Investment to US$1B: PM
Vietnam will create more incentives for Danish companies to raise their investment in the Southeast Asian country to US$1 billion, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung pledged at a Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum held on September 17.
The forum attracted 200 participants, including those from large Danish groups, namely A.P Moller Maersk and Carlsberg.
Speaking at the forum, Dung said the two countries also target to boost the bilateral trade turnover to US$1 billion.
The Vietnamese government leader also called on the two-side businesses to enhance cooperation in the fields of finance, credit, maritime transport, clean energy development, IT, agriculture and beer production.
Currently, Danish investors operate 74 projects capitalized at US$500 million in Vietnam.
At the meeting, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Denmark Federation of Industry (DFI) inked a cooperation agreement on helping two-country enterprises to enhance trade and investment ties. (Chinhphu.Vn, Labor)
