The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) will be assigned to collect taxes, fees and other charges for state budget.

Agribank signed an agreement on the tax collection with the State Treasury and General Tax Department in Hanoi on September 22.

The move will create better conditions for taxpayers to make payments quickly and help raise the efficiency of management of the State budget.

It will also hasten the modernization of these sectors and implement the government’s goal to introduce non-cash payments across the country.

Agribank is now the country’s largest state-owned lender by assets. (Banking Times)
