President Triet Attends Vietnam-Cuba Business Forum, Four Deals Signed
President Nguyen Minh Triet attended a Vietnam-Cuba Business Forum held in La Havana Sept 29 and witnessed the signing of four agreements between the two countries, the Vietnamese government said on its website.
The agreements are a 2009-2010 action program of the Vietnam-Cuba Joint Business Committee, a cooperative agreement between the two governments on food production in Cuba for the period of 2009-15, another on transport and an agreement between Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and Cuba’s Ministry of Light Industry.
Addressing the forum, Triet called on both countries’ businesses to invest in health, education, sports and bio-technology, which are Cuba’s strengths, and in agricultural and industrial production, aquaculture and services, which are potential fields in Vietnam.
Earlier the same day, President Triet paid a visit to former President Fidel Castro, and met with the President of the Cuban National Assembly, Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada. (Chinhphu.vn, Pioneer)
