Vietnam PM Approves US$1.24B Metro Project in HCM City

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a project to build a US$1.24-billion metro in Ho Chi Minh City, financed by three international banks.
 
The Asian Development Bank (ADB), the German Reconstruction Bank (KFW) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will co-fund for the project, the paper said.
 
Ho Chi Minh City needs around US$7.5 billion to develop six urban railway projects and five metro routes between now and 2020.
 
Of the sum, US$6.3 billion is expected to come from foreign sources and the rest from the domestic sources. (Youth)
