Vietnam Exports to Taiwan Drop 28.1% to US$584.8M in Jan-Jul
Vietnam’s exports to Taiwan fell to US$584.8 million in the first seven months of this year, dropping 28.1% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Apparel remained the country’s biggest cash earner with US$123.35 million during the time, making up 21.09% of the country’s total export value, followed by seafood with US$45.8 million.
Rice ranked the third with 104,229 tons worth US$42.4 million during the period, up five times in volume and four times in value on-year.
Vietnam exported US$1.4 billion worth of goods to Taiwan and imported US$8.3 billion in 2008, resulting in a huge trade deficit of US$6.9 billion. (Vinanet)
