Vietnam, Denmark Aim to Build All-rounded Ties

Queen Margrethe II and the Danish Royal Family have started a first official visit to Vietnam slated from Nov 1-9 to boost the bilateral multifaceted cooperation.
 
Queen Margrethe II, her husband Prince Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Princess Mary Elizabeth are being accompanied by Ministers of Culture, Environment and Denmark’s 60 leading enterprises, the Vietnamese government said.
 
Queen Margrethe II is scheduled to hold talks with President Nguyen Minh Triet, pay a courtesy visit to Party Chief Nong Duc Manh, meet with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.
 
She and her entourages will also visit Ho Chi Minh City, Hue city and Lam Dong province.  
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1971, two-way trade between Vietnam and Demark has increased 10%-15% yearly. Last year, bilateral trade reached US$318 million. 
 
The two nations have signed eight cooperative agreements including those in culture and tourism.
 
The European country has provided a non-refundable aid of approx US$1 billion for Vietnam so far, including a US$40 million climate change prevention program ratified last year. (chinhphu.vn)
