The government of Vietnam will offer incentives for Nam Trieu Ship Industry Corporation (Nasico), an affiliate of Vinashin Business Group, for its 14,000-ton floating dock project to serve the repair of 53,0000-DWT ships, under the prime minister’s approval.

Nasico is allowed to borrow up to 85% of the project’s total capital from the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB).

The firm will also receive financial support from the Science and Technology for Development Fund for technology transfer, design copyright purchase, human resource training and foreign expert hire to carry out the project.

In addition, import of materials and equipment for the project will be given a zero tax level.

In July this year, the company launched a 9,600-ton floating dock. The PM has also urged Nasico to early complete the construction of the 14,000-ton dock to meet the increasing demand for ship repair.

Nasico aims to gain a total production value of VND5.6 trillion this year. (chinhphu.vn)
