Intel Vietnam to Operate Chip Plant in Jul, 2010

Intel Product Vietnam will operate its chip assembling plant that costs $1 billion in Ho Chi Minh City in July, 2010, according to CEO Rick Howarth.
 
The plant, called Ibex Peak, is located at Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Zone. It will be Intel’s largest chip manufacturing facility in the world, Rick said.
 
Once operational, the plant will make export value of $120 million/year in the initial phase.
 
Intel pledged to help narrow digital gaps and boost IT industry development in the country, Director of Intel Group’s Southeast Asia Debjani Ghosh said.
 
It will strongly cooperate with communication fund to bolster IT application in rural areas, she noted. (Investment)
