Russian Gazprom to Invest US$307.89M in Vietnam Oil, Gas Projects 2010
Russian Gazprom will invest RUB9.43 billion (US$307.89 million) in oil and gas exploration and production projects in Vietnam’s continental shelf next year.
This is the biggest investment by the Russian group as it spent only RUB2 billion in oil and gas projects in domestic continental shelf, the Vietnam News Agency said on December 8, citing the Russian newspaper Vedomost.
Gazprom plans to start its projects in Vietnam in 2015.
In addition, the group plans to invest RUB5.47 billion in oil and gas projects in India and will start operations in 2012.
Currently, the group is exploring and producing oil and gas at six oilrigs in blocks 111-04, 112 and 113 offshore Vietnam’s central-northern region.
Gazprom and the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) have set a joint venture so-called Vietgazprom to conduct oil and gas exploration and production at oil wells No. 129, 130, 131, and 132 in Vietnam. (VNA)
