EVN Mobilizes over VND47T for Power Projects Year-to-date

The state-owned Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) has mobilized over VND47 trillion (US$2.543 billion) for power projects year-to-date.
 
The capital has been poured into important power projects including Rural Energy II project (RE II), a project to supply electricity to five central highlands province, a project to bring power to Khmer ethnic minority people in the southern province of Soc Trang and Tra Vinh.
 
Some projects are being carried out at slow pace, including 500-kV power lines of Quang Ninh-Thuong Tin and 500-KV O Mon-Nha Be, and 220-kV lines of Nhon Trach-Nha Be, Nhon Trach-Cat Lai, Ham Thuan-Phan Thiet, and Dong Hoi-Hue, EVN said.
 
EVN has plugged in 13 power generation turbines with a combined capacity of 1,856 MW to the national electricity grid since the beginning of this year.
 
The group expects to run seven power projects with a combined capacity of 2,130 MW and start building four others with a combined capacity of 2,216 MW in 2010. (VNA)
