Technip to Hand over Vietnam First Oil Refinery to PetroVietnam Q1 2010
General contractor Technip is speeding up works to hand over Vietnam’s first oil refinery Dung Quat to the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in the first quarter of 2010.
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai will make a field trip to Vietnam’s first oil refinery Dung Quat to inspect the project’s progress on December 18.
The refinery was planned to be handed over to the investor, the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) on Oct 25 but it is behind the schedule as its residue fluid catalytic cracking (RFCC) workshop broke down on August 18, leading to a six-week shutdown.
The Dung Quat plant, located in the central province of Quang Ngai, resumed its operation from Oct 1.
The $3.054-billion has produced 1.247 million tons of products since its first operation on Feb. 22. (Capital Security)
