EVN Needs US$38.65B for Power Generation Projects through 2015
The state-run Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) said it will need VND715 trillion (US$38.65 billion) for its 48 power source projects with a combined capacity of 22,784 MW through 2015.
EVN currently manages and operates 24,300 kilometers of power transmission lines with capacity of between 110 kV and 500 kV each, as well as manages 68% of the country’s total electricity capacity and 71.53% of the national power output.
The group now provides power for some cities and provinces in Laos and Cambodia.
Between 1995 and 2008, the group poured VND233 trillion (US$12.6 billion) into power transmission line projects and electricity source others. (Trade & Industry)
