Vietnam, Russia Sign Cultural Framework Pact

Vietnam and Russia have signed a cooperation framework agreement to boost the bilateral cultural and artistic exchanges and cooperation in the next two years.
 
Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and his visiting Russian Minister of Culture Alexander Avadyev signed the agreement in Hanoi Feb 23.
 
The “Russian cultural days in Vietnam” would take place in November in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City with a series of activities such as shows, galleries and Russian film festival, the Vietnam News Agency said, citing Minister Avdeyev.
 
Vietnamese cultural days in Russia will be held next year.
 
Under the agreement, the two sides agreed to exchanged experts in fields of music, theatre and folk arts as well as promote the cooperation between their libraries, museums and cultural heritage associations.
 
Receiving the guest on the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung who visited Moscow in Dec of 2009 appreciated cultural cooperation with Russia as a crucial foundation to tighten the two countries’ sustainable relations.
    
This year Vietnam and Russia mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the capital city of Hanoi celebrates its 1,000-Year Thanh Long-Hanoi festival.
 
The visiting minister affirmed Russia would actively take part in the significant event as well as the Hue Festival. (VNS)
