U.S. Yet Need to Recruit Vietnam Workers: Labor Ministry
The U.S. market is not in need of workers from Vietnam as a recent advertisement said in local media, affirmed the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
“We are so surprised to hear the news, as we had not received any order from the foreign market for long,” according to the MoLISA.
“This is a mistake. Our company does not announce such information,” said Nguyen Hai Nam, director of Labor Export - Trading and Tourist Company (Sovilaco) under the ministry.
Vietnam currently finds hard to get visa for workers to the market. Moreover, Vietnamese workers’ skills do not meet its strict requirements, Airseco General Director Nguyen Xuan Vui added.
Vietnam sent 12,000 workers abroad so far this year, meeting 16% of the target of this year, the Overseas Labor Management Department under the MoLISA said.
Currently, there are 450,000 Vietnamese laborers working in 40 countries and territories worldwide. (Pioneer)
