German Federal Minister for Economic Co-operation and Development Dirk Niebel kicked off the portal at the witness of 800 German students in Vietnam.

The minister said the portal is very useful to all participants. Germany’s former students can set up their networks and update information via the portal, helping to maintain economic ties between Germany and its key partners, including Vietnam.

Via the Alumniportal Deutschland (APD)’s portal, the students can establish their relations with one another as well as with German organisations and enterprises thanks to assistance by many organisations, including InWEnt, AGEF, Alexander von Humboldt Fund, Goethe Institute and 11 strategic partners in many areas.

The launch of the APD portal is among key events to enhance cooperation between Vietnam and Germany in 2010 which is considered as “The year of Germany in Vietnam” and “The year of Vietnam in Germany”.
