Dai Thanh Co., Ltd, founded in late 2007, is a leading seafood processor in Vietnam thanks to its experienced leaders and hardworking skilled workers to create premium products and services.
Starting official operations in March 2008 when many other companies were struggling to survive in a global financial and economic turmoil, Dai Thanh Company managed to maintain its production and business activities and create thousands of jobs with a monthly pay of VND2.5-3 million.
Currently, Dai Thanh Company is one of leading producers of tra catfish and frozen fillets in Vietnam. Being aware of the importance of input material quality management, the company invested into a fish feed processing plant and a 50-hectare farming area which turns out over 7,500 tonnes of fish each harvest. The self-contained production ensures the highest quality of its products, thus conquering the heart of demanding foreign customers. Besides, the company has applied international quality management systems like HACCP, EU, DIPOA and HALAL standards, upgraded and expanded its production facilities, and raised the professional knowledge of workers and quality supervisors. As a result, Dai Thanh has obtained the ISO9001-2000 certificate and BRC retail certification according to European standards.
Additionally, the company is staffed by a skilled workforce and powered by modern Japanese machines capable of processing 220 tonnes of materials a day and turning out 5,250-7,000 tonnes a year. Its products are now being exported to such markets as Asia, Europe, Australia and the Middle East and are expected to make inroads in other countries in the coming time.
To penetrate choosy markets, Dai Thanh Company always improves its product quality, satisfies all requirements on food safety and hygiene provided in importing nations and strives to lower production costs.
Besides, the company has enjoyed preferential treatments for new business entity, including tax cut and easy credit access, which enable the company to stabilise and expand production.
The results achieved by Dai Thanh Company prove the effectiveness of the Government-initiated stimulus programme, which offered soft loans for enterprises to expand business. Nonetheless, the firm encountered more difficulties in business activities after the Government applied higher prices for using electricity at peak hours because it had to use a lot of electricity for freezing tra fillets. Indeed, the company’s business results were affected by higher production costs and the global economic crisis. Luckily, the firm has managed to overcome difficulties and attest its trademark. Mr Ha Van Tinh, Director of Dai Thanh Company, said: Trademark is intangible asset but its value plays crucial role to the survival and development of a business. Therefore, since its establishment, the company has focused on building up the DATHACO trademark on the basis of product and service quality.
Cheered by its initial success, Dai Thanh will continue to enhance the quality of products and services to meet the customer requirements and assert its position on the Vietnamese and global seafood markets.
