Manulife Financial's General Manager Visits Vietnam
Mr Philip Hampden-Smith, Executive Vice President and General Manager, South East Asia operations, Manulife Financial recently paid an official visit to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung at Government’s Office in Hanoi.
Mr Hampden-Smith updated the Deputy Prime Minister on Manulife’s business operations in Vietnam over the past eleven years in terms of its agency growth and micro insurance projects in rural areas. He also outlined the company’s aggressive growth plan for the future to fulfill its vision to become the top life insurer in Vietnam in the next 5 years, re-affirming the company’s long-term commitment to developing this underserved life insurance market.
During the meeting, he highlighted the company’s interest in acquiring a property in Hanoi. This would be the company’s second commercial property in Vietnam, after Manulife Plaza, their Head Office in Ho Chi Minh City, and a further example of Manulife’s commitment to this country.
“I’ve been tremendously impressed with the Government’s sincerity and commitment to developing the country as well as their obvious desire to do what is best for Vietnam and the Vietnamese people, “said Mr Hampden-Smith at the meeting.
Mr Hampden-Smith also expressed his thanks to the Government for its ongoing support to Manulife Vietnam, especially that of the Ministry of Finance.
