Luu Hai Minh, CEO of Orange Informatics Communication (OIC) - also known as Nhat Hai Project Technology Joint Stock Company - always has great aspirations and ambition to reach the peak of technological possibilities. He has successfully built OIC into a leading ICT brand.
Unique business management strategies
Since OIC was established on October 13, 1997, CEO Luu Hai Minh has carried out many unique business strategies. He has focused on researching, developing and diversifying the different areas under the OIC brand. All products and services of the company are branded OIC like OIComputer, OICabinet Rack, OIC Hospital Software, OIC Security Software, OIC Treepro and OICare.
Visiting OIC headquarters, we were amazed at military-style working unit titles, like Operations Command and Advising Division. The combat-inspired terminology is to remind all employees to wholeheartedly devote themselves to the development of the company. In his viewpoint, the marketplace is a battlefield and each business activity is comparable to preparing for or fighting a battle.
OIC has adopted the Blue Ocean Strategy, avoiding head-to-head competition with big businesses by creating new demand in uncontested market space. OIC has explored and developed new markets and acted as the creator of “Blue Ocean”.
By opening specialised websites, OIC has brought useful technological references to customers. One typical such site is http://cisco.oic.com.vn - the No. 1 specialized network equipment and solution site in Vietnam.
Innovative technological and social projects
In 2010, OIC stirred up the ICT world with E Corporate Banking software, a top-tier software for electronic corporate banking systems. This product has been rated four-star by the National Council of Sao Khue Award 2010. This software product will provide the best application system for banks, allowing them to diversify internet-based business activities.
OIC Hospital Software, also a Sao Khue Award winner in 2006, is being applied in many large hospitals, with user-friendly features and interface.
Apart from investing in network transmission laboratories and social-benefit IT solutions, Luu Hai Minh is building and deploying innovative, even unprecedented, technological and social projects in Vietnam. OIC has developed and produced supporting and training equipment for autistic children, especially building the capital-intensive OIC Hyperactivity Institute, with the aim of treating hyperactivity disorder in children.
Along with social projects, CEO Luu Hai Minh also pushes green technology projects, particularly high-tech wastewater treatment projects and desalination systems for offshore military bases.
Minh said: “My business philosophy is absolutely innovative. OIC must always be a leader in exploring new market spaces and creating new products.” He is also ambitiously applying wind power technology to tap an inexhaustible energy source.
With its persevering efforts, OIC has won many awards such as ISO Gold Cups in 2007, 2008 and 2009, Strong Trademark Super Cup, 50 Intellectual Property Products Gold Cup, Vietnam Golden Lotus Award and Sao Khue Awards.
