Vietnam-South Korea Trade Forecast High at $12B in 2010

Trade between Vietnam and South Korea is likely to hit a record high of $12 billion this year, given significant bilateral trade growth in the first ten months, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
The two-way trade jumped to $10 billion between Jan and Oct, surpassing the whole value of 2009 at $9 billion, Do Xuan Ha, deputy dead of the MoIT’s Trade Promotion Department said at a seminar on Vietnam-South Korea trade ties held in Hanoi on December 20.
 
Currently, South Korea ranks the fourth among Vietnam’s 10 most important trade partners after China, the U.S. and Japan, Ha added.
 
Vietnam’s export staples were crude oil, apparel, seafood, and woodwork products while its main imports cloth, steel and iron and machinery, equipment and spare parts.
