18 Export Staples of Vietnam Valued over $1B Each in 2010
Up to 18 major exports of Vietnam have reported revenues of over $1 billion each this year, compared to the General Statistics Office said.
The products were seafood, cashew nuts, coffee, rice, coal, crude oil, petroleum products, plastic products, rubber, woodwork products, apparel, footwear, gemstones and precious metals, steel products, machinery and equipment, computers, electrics and spare parts, electric wires and cables, and means of transport, the GSO noted.
The combined export revenues of these products were $55.198 billion, making up 77.06% of the country’s sum during the year, the office said.
Apparel was Vietnam’s biggest cash earner with $11.172 billion, up 23.2% on-year, followed by footwear with $5.079 billion, up 24.9%, seafood with $4.953 billion, up 16.5%, and crude oil with $4.944 billion.
The GSO estimates Vietnam’s exports have soared 25.5% on-year to $71.629 billion in 2010. (GSO December Edition 2010)
