HCM City to Spend VND12T on Transport Projects This Year
Vietnam’s southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City will invest nearly VND12 trillion ($615.38 million) in projects to build and upgrade 18 transport works this year, a local official said.
Investors, however, worried that slow site clearance and slow capital disbursement may hinder the projects’ implementation, according to Deputy Director of the municipal Transport Department Bui Xuan Cuong.
Other details about the projects have not been made available at this time.
In next five years, HCM City estimates to need VND1,400 trillion for infrastructure and urban development projects, said Nguyen Thanh Tai, vice-chairman of the municipal People’s Committee. (Liberated Saigon, Labor)
