HCM City Spends VND14.62T for Transport Projs in 2010

Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese southern economic hub, spent VND14.62 trillion ($749.74 million) on transport infrastructure projects in 2010, surpassing 1.5% of the full-year target.
 
Of the sum, VND13.98 trillion was disbursed, meeting 95.6% of the whole-year target.
 
Besides, VND213.89 trillion was mobilized from the forms of building-transfer (BT) and building-operation and transfer (BOT).
 
This year, the city will invest nearly VND12 trillion ($615.38 million) in projects to build and upgrade 18 transport works.
 
In next five years, HCM City estimates to need VND1,400 trillion for infrastructure and urban development projects, said Nguyen Thanh Tai, vice-chairman of the municipal People’s Committee. (Transport)
