Vietnam PM Approves Central Highlands Development Plan by 2030

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved functions of a master development plan for Central Highlands region from now by 2030, the government said.
 
Under the plan, the Central Highlands will focus on exploring and processing bauxite, producing rubber and coffee among products for export and also developing hydro-power plants.
 
By 2030, the region, including Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong is expected to cover an urban site of 32,500 hectares from the current 16,300 ha and accommodate 7.32 million persons from 5.11 million persons at present.
 
The Vietnamese leader assigned ministries and branches to carry out the planning within 18 months. (chinhphu.vn)
