Vietnam Farm Produce to Meet All Food Safety Requirements by 2020

Vietnam strives to produce agricultural products which will meet food safety requirements by 2020, the country’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.
 
The farm produce will meet the high requirements of the local market and global market, said the ministry.
 
The ministry has built a plan on which the country will have 3.85 million hectares of land for rice cultivation, mainly in the Mekong Delta and Red River Delta in 2020.
 
The plan also targets to develop irrigation and transport system in rural areas as well as perfect agricultural land management and apply modern technology.
 
In the ministry’s plan, 90% of rice varieties, 90% of maize varieties, 80% of vegetables varieties and 70% of fruit varieties will meet technological standards. (Capital Security)
