With over US$481,222,000 and annual growth rate of 50 % (70 % in 2009) are the most brilliant record of Vision Vietnam announced at the 8th anniversary of the company on December 15-16, 2010 at the National Convention Centre, Hanoi. It clearly marks the success of the multi-level marketing.
Advantages of multi-level marketing
Multi-level marketing, e-commerce or direct sales initiated in the US is untraditional and with special business method. Over 70 years of development, it has expanded to all continents from developed to developing countries. With increasing effectiveness of multi-level marketing, Vietnam is an attractive market after China. Customers can get commodities directly from companies without intermediary of distribution network. It saves much money from marketing, storage and transportation. The saving can be used for upgrading commodities. Furthermore, the customers also share the experiences with their friends and relatives. However, this method is also subjected to different views.
Since its establishment in 1996, Vision International People Group with products for public health has always taken the lead and maintained average growth rate of over 20 % a year. In particular, during 1998 global economic crisis, the company not only survived but set Guiness record on highest growth rate. During the recent economic crisis, the company has maintained a growth rate of 20 % a year, and in Vietnam even at 50 %. To ensure successful e-commerce, products must meet the demand of clients and exclusive distributors. Multi-level marketing ensures the interests of customers in quality of commodities and prices free from competition.
Correct view needed
Certain controversy occurred in the sales of nutrition foods. Some companies advertise them as cerement of all illnesses and sell them at high prices. People in remote areas with little information fall victims of those tricks. Nutrition foods help improve health and reduce danger of illnesses. For thousands of years, mankind has used natural foods and herbs to maintain health and cure illnesses.
The philosophy of Vision products is: herbs give health. Consequently,Vision and Arkopharma – a leading French pharmaceutical company in the field, have produced herbal medicines by modern methods of Cryogen. Being new in Vietnam and with high profit, multi-level marketing causes certain controversy. Some companies develop aggressively, bringing pressure to bear on customers and adversely affecting other companies.
In recent years, with global economic recession, network marketing becomes the first choice for its efficiency and cost saving. In 2009, the turnover of Vision Vietnam increased 70 %. Due to the down-size of staff and reduction of salary, staff members turn to direct sales in free time. The new method has been applied by many Vietnamese companies such as Vina-Link, Away, Avon.
Multi-level marketing has increased in Vietnam especially when Competition Law and Decree 110 were enforced respectively in late 2004 and 2005. Network marketing is legal in Vietnam and attains high turnover. In 2009, Multi-level Marketing Association was founded in Vietnam and official ceremony was held on March 31, 2010 to establish its role alongside other traditional businesses. As a result, it has attracted closed cooperation from social workers and related businesses.
Well-established role
Vision Company considers Vietnam as a potential market for nutrition foods, an intellectual business as distributors must train their staff best knowledge for public health care. At the ceremony of its 8th anniversary in Vietnam, Vision invited Mr. Tom Schreiter, or Big El, author of several best sellers on network marketing. Big El becomes rich and famous with his flexible network marketing. He introduced his expertise by recounting interesting stories that can last long in the memory of listeners. He often said: Data can be announced but stories can be sold. One of his books focuses on network marketing known as the third wave. Anyone from anywhere can use his free time for business.
As the first company of this kind in South East Asia, Vision Vietnam is playing its role among economic groups and in the international integration in Vietnam. It also helped create jobs, increase income and improve the social welfare in Vietnam.

To certify a business model, 7 points must be considered:
- Unreasonable high initial investment.
- Participants receive high pay on recruiting other.
- Bonuses not depending on sales or services.
- Commodities/services are illegal and cannot be sold.
- Participants must buy more than they can sell or consume.
- Unsold commodities cannot be returned.
- Contracts signed without main clauses and termination clause.
In addition, other elements must also be considered:
- Whether the company also operates in other countries as announced?
- Is the company member of a direct sales association?
