Although not yet operational, the rubber latex processing project in Dak Nong province conducted by the Viet – Bun Development and Investment Joint Stock Company is appreciated. The project is expected to create many jobs and help to stabilize the region’s socio-economic situation, contributing to the province’s industrial development.
Dak Nong is full of potential to develop a large production economy which focuses on combining agro-forestry with the processing industry, particularly rubber, the province’s major industrial product. To effectively exploit its potential requires a large investment and strong infrastructure system. Currently, building industrial complexes and processing plants, particularly those for rubber processing in Dak Nong, is very necessary to meet the demand of rubber latex of the domestic market as well as for export. In addition, the world’s consumption of natural rubber latex is increasing. The price may fluctuate in different stages, but the rubber industry generally always gets profit. The rubber latex processing plant project in Dak Nong plays an important role in ensuring the demand of latex, as well as helping to reduce the price of rubber products. The project will take advantage of the region’s natural resource of basalt, help create jobs for local labourers and develop the province’s socio-economy.
Catching up with demand, as well as seeing potential and strength of Dak Nong, the Viet – Bun Development and Investment JSC has invested in the project in order to supply rubber latex for enterprises to produce finished products. The provincial people’s committee has licensed the company to build the plant with annual capacity of 12,000 tonnes per year and investment of nearly VND270 billion in Quang Truc commune, Tuy Duc district. Since the groundbreaking in January 2010, the project has been 70 per cent completed and is scheduled to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2011.
Chairman of the Viet – Bun Development and Investment JSC Pham Tuan Anh said over the past time, there was incorrect information that the project did not have access to capital from banks in the province. This caused pressure on the company over the time of conducting the project. However, with support from provincial authorities and the determination of the company’s leaders, the company has so far overcome difficulties and pressure. The completion of 70 per cent of the project so far has indicated that the company is capable to complete and put into operation the plant in accordance with the schedule. With awareness of environment hygiene, the Viet – Bun Development and Investment JSC is building a national standard wastewater treatment plant equipped with the most advanced technologies, with total investment of VND26 billion for the plant.
In order to ensure the supply of material for production, the company has cooperated with forest companies to plant rubber forests, as well as signed contracts for purchasing latex.
Chairman Tuan Anh confirmed that the plant is currently the one with the biggest capacity in Dak Nong. “Once operational, the plant will contribute significantly to increasing the province’s industrial production value and create jobs for locals. Thus, we are striving to complete the project in time in order to contribute to the province’s socio-economic stability”.
