The United States Embassy in Hanoi said US Undersecretary of Commerce Francisco Sanchez led an education mission to Vietnam, visiting Ho Chi Minh City on April 5-6 and Hanoi on April 7-8. The purpose of the mission is to promote education exchange between Vietnam and the United States.

The delegation features 56 American colleges and universities, including undergraduate and graduate degree programmes, community colleges and English language programmes. Majors include business management, information technology, engineering, finance, science, English study and many more. All participating schools are accredited by independent accrediting agencies and offer a wide variety of academic programs in locations throughout the United States.

Undersecretary Sanchez highlighted benefits of American education for Vietnamese students and its economy. After completing their studies in the US, Vietnamese students will return home with new knowledge, skills and experience. In fact, education is one of the most important exports of the United States, and Vietnam is currently ranked ninth among countries with over 13,000 students in the US.
