Big Ideas for Small Phones
The FTP Mobile Phone Technology (FPT Mobile), PC World magazine and Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, have recently announced the ever first contest on programming games for mobile phones in Vietnam. The contest entitled 'Mobile Games 2004' will be organised under the sponsorship of the Samsung Vina Electronic Company with technical support from the Java Vietnam community. 'Mobile Games 2004' aims at creating a playground for young Vietnamese people who have a passion for information technology and the development of application for mobile phones, while building linking technology application with the market. Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese can join the contest. Individuals and groups can send their games to the contest. Products sent to the contest must be complete products, programmed on J2ME (version MIDP 1.0) and must be compatible with the Samsung mobile phone simulation programme.
The contest will take place over more than three months, from July 1, 2004 and will end in October with a total of more than VND100 million (US$6,369) in prizes.
