PM Okays ADB-funded Road Projects in Northern Mountainous Provinces
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has recently approved the list of road projects, which will be partly financially covered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), for northern mountainous provinces.
The benefiting localities are Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai and Lao Cai. These projects will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase estimated to cost US$109.6 million, US $80 million of which will be provided by the Asian Development Bank.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to seek capital sources for the second phase of these projects.
For their parts, the People’s Committees of these benefiting provinces are responsible for verifying and approving the projects in line with current legal regulations.
