VNA to Open Vietnam-UK Direct Flight Route

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) will officially open a direct flight route between Vietnam and the United Kingdom (UK) from December 8, 2011, using Boeing B777 aircraft. The route, expected to have seven flights per week in 2014, links Vietnam with London Gatwick Airport, the UK.

 

Currently, Vietnam Airlines is urgently fulfilling requirements related to safety, security, technical conditions, services, personnel and other resources to launch the inaugural flights. The national flag carrier is also actively coordinating with the British Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), travel companies in Vietnam and abroad to boost tourism and investment activities between the two nations when the direct flight route is opened.
