Vietnam Plans US$34 Million to Address Pollution
The Vietnamese Government will spend US$34 million (VND 700 billion) on controlling pollution caused by transportation activities from now to 2015.
This was said in the pollution control project recently approved by the PM.
Under the project, transport enterprises will have to apply environmental and waste management systems.
By 2015, 25 percent of train carriages will be renovated and 89 percent of coach stations will be equipped with waste collection and treatment facilities.
The project also aims to deal with health effects of noise in a half of the national airports and propose solutions to the matter.
According to the project, an environmentally friendly transport system will be developed by 2030 to basically control pollution causes on roads, railways, inland waterways, maritime and aviation.
