Vietnam to Host ICT Summit June 9-10
The inaugural Vietnam ICT Summit 2011 will a forum to discuss development visions, strategies and macro issues of the Vietnamese information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
Ms Vu Thi Thu Giang, Deputy General Secretary of Vietnam Software Association (VINASA), said that nearly 300 senior officials from leading Vietnamese ICT businesses, leaders of foreign ICT corporations in Vietnam, leaders of academic institutes, universities, centres, ICT officers in various ministries and other agencies, officials from embassies, commercial counsellors of some countries in Vietnam would attend the event, exchange and contribute their initiatives.
Dr Dan E Khoo, President of the World IT and Services Alliance (WITSA), will deliver the most expected representation. WITSA is a partner of the United Nations and plays an important role in orienting ICT development worldwide. WITSA members include ICT associations from more than 70 countries and territories, which occupy more than 90 percent of in the world ICT market. Dr Dan E Khoo’s lecture on the future of digital era is a special opportunity for Vietnamese ICT managers to directly get information and learn about the world ICT industry trends.
A new content included to the summit is the specific discussion on “bringing ICT into a software infrastructure for socioeconomic development.” This is a new role and position of ICT industry which may become an industry and national breakthrough strategy. According to the organisation committee, many speakers registered their representations on this topic, which is estimated to be the centre of attention at this year’s event.
