ADB Lends Two Water Projects in HCM City
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Vietnam have signed two loan agreements with a total value of US$198 million to finance clean water projects in Ho Chi Minh City to improve the water supply system in the most populous city in Vietnam and surrounding provinces.
Of the two loans, the first US$138 million package is part of a US$2.8 billion investment programme aiming to connect almost 20,000 families to piped water for the first time. The goal is to increase piped water coverage in Ho Chi Minh City where many families have to pay nearly double official prices for water.
