Japan Supports Vietnam in Upgrading Road
On July 28, 2011, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam held the signing ceremony of the grassroots grant contract of US$95,727 funded by the Government of Japan for “The Project for Upgrading the Road of Cam Quan Commune”.
Cam Quan commune is a commune in Ha Tinh province of the Central Vietnam, with a population of 8,600 and about 2,000 households. Commune people earn their living by rice cultivation. Percentage of poor households is 21,9 percent.
Most of inter-communal road of Cam Quan commune are unpaved earth roads. During rainy seasons, holes occur and the road become muddy, affecting the transportation of people and products, even preventing pupils from going to school, which is a big constraint to the socio-economic development.
Under this circumstance, the people’s committee of Cam Quan Commune has planned to use concrete to pave the most damaged road connecting the village No.13, No.15, No.16. The Government of Japan has decided to grant an aid to purchase necessary materials for the project.
