Do VanTan was born in Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province but he chose Ha Giang to start up business. After nearly 30 years of hardship in the northern tip of the country, he considered Ha Giang his second home. After more than 10 years of operation, Tien Dat Co., Ltd has made long strides in its business operations, from infrastructure construction to real estate investment.
When he set foot in Ha Giang, he was just in his twenties. He started with general business while purchasing agricultural products for processing. Each year, his business unit supplied thousands of electric generators, tea driers, blankets, mosquito nets, warm clothes, and daily utensils for local consumers; and purchased a large volume of agricultural products from local people. In 2000, with initial business successes, he decided to establish Tien Dat Co., Ltd in upland Hoang Su Phi district.
After more than 10 years, Tien Dat has become a top construction company in Ha Giang province. The company’s success is the painstaking journey of businessman Do Van Tan. Doing business in a poor province, he always pays high attention to upgrading equipment and technology to reach sustainable development. He said construction is a hard job in poor mountainous areas. The company has to use its limited financial budget and personnel in the most effective manner. During its operating process, the company always effectively applies human resource and employment policies. As a result, it has built up a strong contingent of technicians and skilled workers. Especially, it successfully constructed and applied the ISO 9001-2008 international management standard system.
With its systematic investment directions, since its inception, the company always looks to sustainable development, trains and employs local workers. In addition to the business front, Tien Dat also attaches great importance to social work and charity activities. Apart from paying taxes to the State Budget, it also donates a big sum to charitable activities. Its employees are treated fairly in terms of wage and bonuses for what they have done. In recognition of his contributions, Do Van Tan was awarded numerous titles and gold cups from the central and provincial authorities, including the “National Community Development” Gold Cup and “Outstanding Businessman in Ha Giang” title.
At present, the company is stepping into the mining sector. Director Do Van Tan said this will be a fruitful attempt to bring equipment and manpower use to full capacity, while effectively exploiting the advantages of natural resources to push forward industrial development in Ha Giang province.
