Architect Thai Ngoc Hung - Director of ATA Architects shared: “By 2025 the urban population of developing countries will double, Vietnam is no exception. One of the appropriate models of sustainable development urban is “Compact City” with mixed-use and excellent services and public facilities arranged within 10-15 minute walk, sufficiently dense concentration people, smart growth to reduce environmental impact, optimizing resources, saving energy. It is walkable and bicycle-friendly; and public transport is recommended. Especially, “Compact City” can diversify the functions of the buildings and create more opportunities and choices of houses, easy to attract high quality human resources, attract investment and become very competitive.”
Therefore, the ATA has set out specific actions for sustainable design focusing on issues such as green design (Sustainable design) by using energy efficiently and recycle resources, using urban space efficiently and economically to ensure the significant existence of natural elements, and finally the design that all the relevant factors can be balanced to create the most sustainable future for development.
Mr Hung asserted, “The goals of sustainable development are that the development must couple with rational using natural resources as well as environmental protection, and focusing on the relationship between the generations; today's generation must take responsibility for future generations about leaving the heritage and value system.”
To implement the forth-set directions, ATA Architects intensively concentrates on main areas such as the architecture designing, urban planning and designing, interior designing, structural designing, mechanical engineering, project management and providing the consultancy for projects on mixed-use development, hotels, commercial centres, offices, luxury apartments, sports complexes, new metropolitans, economic zones and the new developed urban areas.
