VBC to Search for Best Baristas in Vietnam

The second Vietnam Barista Competition (VBC) will be incorporated with the Food & Hotel Vietnam 2011 to be opened from September 28 - 30, 2011 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC). The competition is organised by Singapore Exhibition Services Company (SES) and VCCI Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. The event will attract over 360 companies from 31 countries and territories in the world.

 

With the success of its inaugural competition in 2009, the Vietnam Barista Competition continues to be the premiere platform for local baristas to showcase their expertise and creativity and fight for the title of Vietnam’s top barista. This is also the chance for specialists to exchange experience and coffee-making skills.

 

The competition will be based on criteria of world-acclaimed barista contests. Competitors have to create our cups of espresso coffee, four cups of cappuccino coffee, and four cups of latte art and blended signature coffee beverage, which will be judged by a panel of international experts. The blending must be finished in 15 minutes.

 

The winner will receive cash prize and a Singapore tour. He will represent Vietnam at an Asia Barista Contest in 2012.

 

Ms Ting SiewMui, Project Director for Food & Hotel Vietnam, said: The organising board will host the Vietnam Culinary Challenge for best chefs.
