Vietnam to Host ASEM Labour Ministers’ Conference
Vietnam will host the fourth ASEM Labour and Environment Ministers’ Conference in early October 2012.
The Government chief has recently approved the organizational plan for the event.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) was assigned to host the conference.
Under the theme “Sustainable social security for everybody – An effective tool for economic growth, job generation and social coherence in the post-crisis period”, the conference will take place in early November 2012.
The conference will include a forum on Labor and Employment, a senior officials’ meeting on labor and employment, and a forum with ASEM social partners.
Through these events, The MOLISA hopes to disseminate the country’s policies on socio-economic growth, manpower development, and the country’s fulfillment of commitments to the Millennium Development Goals, especially on poverty reduction and Millennium Development Goals, regional and international integration.
The conference is expected to provide a good chance for Vietnam to exchange and learn experience of other countries on job generation in favor of social security.
