State President Receives Sri Lankan Guest
Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang on September 5 in Hanoi hosted a reception for Mr. Gotabaye Rajapakse, Sri Lankan Defense Secretary, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.
State President Truong Tan Sang appreciated valuable support Sri Lanka had given to the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence and reunification.
He said cultural similarities and traditional ties create a good foundation for the two countries’ future cooperation.
Defence Secretary Gotabaye Rajapakse said that he hopes to gain support and learn experience from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.
The guest leader also took the occasion to convey the invitation of the Sri Lankan President for an official visit to the South Asian Island nation.
