Vietnam-Argentina Intergovernmental Committee to Meet in November

The 3rd meeting of the Vietnam-Argentina Intergovernmental Committee will take place in Hanoi in November this year.
 
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung appointed Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh to be the new Head of the Vietnam Subcommittee of the Vietnam-Argentina Intergovernmental Committee.
 
The 2nd meeting of the Vietnam-Argentina Intergovernmental Committee on economic, culture, scientific and technological cooperation was held in Buenos Aires capital from May 6-8, 2009.
 
Trade ties between the two countries increased 13 times over the past decade. Last year’s bilateral trade volume reached US$ 424 million but potential still remains vast, according to the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry.
 
Vietnam and Argentina set up diplomatic relation on October 25, 1973. So far, the both sides have signed nearly 30 cooperative agreements covering various fields, including economics and trade, investment promotion and protection, and agriculture.
