After more than a half of a century of construction and development, Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company is always a top plastic producer in Vietnam. Its products are favoured by Vietnamese consumers and annually voted “Vietnam High-quality Products” every year. Tien Phong Plastic-branded products have been present from civil constructions to national key projects. Nowadays, the company is a leading light in the Vietnamese supporting industry.
To enhance its competitiveness on both domestic and international markets, Tien Phong Plastic has always focused on investing in equipment renovation, technological modernisation and new materials. Currently, all machinery and production technology of the company are imported from developed industrialised countries like Germany, Italy, Austria and Japan to meet a variety of market demand, particularly large projects. In 2010, the company installed many technological lines to create innovative products, particularly HDPE (High-density polyethylene) pipes of 1,200 mm in diameter and UVC pipes of 800 mm in diameter - both are the largest of their kinds in Vietnam. The firm has also developed innovative, nice-looking products for civil constructions like plastic railing and rain gutters. These products are liked very much by consumers in urban areas, high-grade villas and condos.
To expand the market, Tien Phong Plastic has made inroads in the southern region by opening new branches. Apart from heightening prestige, image and brand name in the southern market, the company also has adopted development strategies and production and sales plans, and prepared production equipment to multiply current capacity. It also invested in Tien Phong Plastic - SMP plastic pipe factory in Laos, the largest of its kind in the neighbouring nation. With three manufacturing factories in Hai Phong City, Binh Duong province and Vientiane (Laos), the company can annually turn out 75,000 tonnes of products. The firm has also reallocated its old factory from An Da to Hung Dao Award, Duong Kinh, Hai Phong City where production area is more than four times larger of 13.6 ha.
In couple with infrastructure development, Tien Phong Plastic attaches much importance to expanding sales and distribution networks. At present, it has six deferred-payment sale centres and nearly 300 sale agents, and accounts for 70 - 80 percent of plastic pipe market share. Not only dominating the domestic market, Tien Phong Plastic also exports its products to many countries in the world. It has registered trademark protection in five countries, namely China, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar. With the business motto “Quality is the most important - Protecting legitimate rights and interests of consumers”, Tien Phong Plastic has asserted its position and strong influence on the market.
Not only being a shining star in the Vietnamese plastic industry and a business icon in the northern port city of Hai Phong, Tien Phong Plastic is also a pioneer in humanitarian activities. The firm has pledged to financially support five homeless elderly people, and actively funded the Thanking Fund, the Fund for the Poor, the Monument Construction Fund, and Scholarship Fund. With its endless efforts and dedication, Tien Phong Plastic has been honourably rewarded noble titles from the State and the Part, including “ Third Grade Labour Hero in the Renovation Period” in 2005, Third Grade Independence Order in 2010, First Grade Labour Order in 2000, Second Grade Labour Order in 1984, and Third Grade Labour Order in 1973. It was also granted the Emulation Flag from the Government in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010; voted a Top 10 Company in Hai Phong City in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010; presented Vietnam Quality Award by the the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2008; two Golden Lotus Cups in 2002; “For Green Vietnam” Gold Cup in 2003; “For the Community Development” Gold Cup in 2004; "Vietnam Gold Securities Award” in 2009; Top 10 Vietnam Gold Star Award in 2010; and Top 20 Vietnam Famous Brand in 2010 and 2011. On August 28, 2011, the Party Committee of Tien Phong Plastic was named Top 100 Party Unit in the Vietnamese business community.
