Japan Provides Consultancy for Nuclear Power Project

 The Japan Atomic Power Company (JAPC) will provide consultancy services for developing site approval dossier and feasibility study of Vietnam’s Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear plant project.   
 
Contract detailing the services were signed by the Electricity of VietNam (EVN) and JAPC on September 28 in Hanoi.
 
JAPC’s services will last 18 months, costing ¥2 billion which is sponsored by the Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
 
Addressing the signing ceremony, EVN General Director Pham Le Thanh said that Japan is the biggest donor for EVN’s electricity projects, offering financial support via ODA and export credit.
 
Especially, at the beginning of 2010, the Japanese Government showed its willingness to provide a package of aid for JAPC to conduct the two contracts for the construction of Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear plant.
 
The Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear plant will have a total capacity of around 2,000MW applying modern, safe and economical technology. It is located in Ninh Hai district in Ninh Thuan province.
