In order to realise PetroVietnam Oil and Gas Group’s strategy of development acceleration to 2015 and orientation toward 2025, PetroVietnam Engineering (PV Engineering) has established its own strategy of development to 2015 and orientation toward 2025 “to become a leading corporation as well as one of the Vietnam largest corporations in the field of consultancy, design, management of oil and gas, power projects and other industrial projects”.
Along with more than 13 years of establishment and development, PV Engineering- a subsidiary of PetroVietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) has been participating in major projects of Vietnam oil and gas industry. PV Engineering has taken part in implementing the development planning of Vietnam oil and gas industry in the period of 2006 - 2015, with a vision to 2025. The projects that it has designed include: Phu My - Ho Chi Minh City gas pipeline project, Block B - O Mon gas pipeline project, Nam Con Son 2 gas pipeline project, Thi Vai LPG storage, Soai Rap industrial parks (in Tien Giang province), LPG storages, oil and petrol storages, Polypropylene plastic factory, Binh Phuoc Ethanol plant, Nhon Trach 2 thermal power plant, Pacific 2 thermal power plant; accompanying in the topographical - geological survey for almost major projects of oil and gas industry... In 2011, PV Engineering is striving to reach the turnover of VND750 billion, earning before tax of VND86 billion, contributing VND52 billion to the state budget and average income of employees is estimated about VND17.5 million per capita per month.
In the strategy of development acceleration to 2015 and orientation toward 2025, PetroVietnam has considered that oil and gas engineering service is one of the four main industries. Upon it, PV Engineering has also established its own strategy acceleration development to 2015 and orientation toward 2025 “to become a leading corporation as well as one of the Vietnam largest corporations in the field of consultancy, design, management of oil and gas, power projects and other industrial projects; providing products and services with high quality and competitive prices by means of meeting customers’ requirements”. Its overall target is “to make PV Engineering become strong in some major fields of businesses, which have full capacity in rivalries with domestic and foreign competitors. Besides, it is gradually expanding operations abroad”.
Mr Do Van Thanh - General Director of PV Engineering said that its specific task is to hasten the industry development of design, consultancy, projects management and advisory survey. Moreover, the company has endeavoured to reach the average growth of over 40 percent yearly in the period of 2011 – 2015, focusing on design, consultancy, management and advisory survey for oil and gas projects from upstream to downstream, from onshore to offshore; bio-fuel projects; power projects and other industrial and public projects. Apart from domestic projects, PV Engineering also expands its businesses abroad; at the beginning, it has involved in some PetroVietnam projects in foreign countries, such as: Russia, Algeria, Venezuela, Laos, the Middle East.
Main objectives of PV Engineering:
By 2015, its total output value will amount to VND 2,450 billion, attain after- tax revenue of VND280 billion; and total number of employees of 1,800 with average income of VND 25 - 30 million per capita per month.
In the field of design and consultancy: By the end of 2015, PV Engineering will be fully qualified for the basic design, FEED design, detailed design for onshore projects of under US$3 billion, offshore projects design (under 200m of water) and undertaking approximately 80 percent of workload. By 2025, PV Engineering will be enabled to design for all projects, except for oil refinery projects with sophisticated technology, which it will continue to cooperate with foreign partnerships in implementation.
In the field of project management: By 2015, PV Engineering will be capable of providing project management services for under US$1 billion projects. By 2025, the company will be qualified to provide consultancy, project management and advisory supervision for all major domestic and foreign projects implemented by PetroVietnam.
